Sanderson Trend Report: An exotic Voyage
Every month Walker Greenbank Contracts will bring you latest trends in commercial design, showing what they feel is the flavour of the month. This month’s trend from Sanderson which focus’s on An Exotic Voyage.
If we are talking about key trends for this season, then there seems like no better place to start than with the Sanderson Voyage of Discovery. Much has been written this season about the influence of travel on decoration. This particular journey takes us to the southern Hemisphere; the excuse to introduce the tropical brights of latin America, combined with beautifully painted botanical prints of the exotic floral and fauna to be found there.

‘Voyage of Discovery’, pays homage to our pioneering ancestors whose love of travel and the documentation of their first discoveries have such a strong influence on many aspects of our everyday lives. From the natural historians of the 17th century who beautifully illustrated their scientific discoveries, to the leisure traveller of the later Victorian era who collected memoires of their journeys, these images still excite us today and evoke a sense of adventure and freedom.
From ocean beds, to cheeky capuchin monkeys, luscious ferns and exquisite botanical etchings, the studio have captured the essence of these beautifully painted illustrations.
