Group Workshop - Group Drawing

Group Workshop - Group Drawing

This workshop was based on the starting of our group drawing onto large paper. Although not a very structured workshop, it was handy, because it got all of us together for a couple of hours to sit down and discuss, with the help from a tutor, and talk about exactly how we were going to organise our printing.

We each gathered together our own individual drawings we had created as well as our own object we had brought in to try to collate them together to create a flowing design. This was difficult because we each had different drawing styles and objects. In the end, looking at all the objects we had brought in we decided on an 'Alice In Wonderland' esk style to our print, with large oversized objects which were overly extravagant and had heavy pattern. This idea was based on the tea party scene in the book, and the objects we have, a teacup ring, and a small glass bottle.

From this we went straight into the drawing onto the paper, with the idea that if it did go wrong or if we did not like it that we could create a few drawings and choose our favourite. this was dissimilar to other groups who went away and created their own drawings before coming back together and using the cut out drawings, placing them on the paper to create their design. I think the way we chose to create ours worked better as it allowed us all to contribute to everything together and the design seemed to flow more when complete.

After we had created the main of the drawing we were able to tweak it a little before adding texture and patterns, leading onto the drawing onto drafting film.
