I didn't get too much work done today because I was at work, but I did get an insight which had made me think about how I am going to tackle this project.
After work , I nipped into uni for an individual tutorial. This was an opportunity to go over my industry report, in preparation for the submission on Friday. I had a different tutor than I had last week, so I briefly explained before she had a look at the changes I had made. This draft was a lot more concise with 5 chapters, but I was over the word limit by 150 words!!! :( My aim is to go through and sort the report out tomorrow, using a printed out set of the guidelines to help me make sure everything is set out and organised how it should be.
As we had some time left over at the end of my tutorial, my tutor asked if she could see my work. After yesterday, I was a bit unsure of what to show her, because I felt a little nervous about what I was doing. However, when I showed her she loved it. I explained my worries and she told me that it takes great strength to do something different, take on a challenge. In relation to my work its relation to marking, she suggested that it might be a good idea if I complete some studio work alongside this work, that way even if all my lesson plans aren't related to textiles, they will inform my studio practice which will be! She suggested that I treat each lesson plan as the starter for a mini project, completing a few drawing, samples and pieces of work for each.
I think this is a great idea and is something that I shall be looking forward to creating very soon. Although the majority of my work will be different, I will by next have the start of some drawings in a sketchbook to show everyone. This way my own style will still be reflected in all my work.
