6th January 2014 - BA5 project briefing

6th January 2014 - BA5 project briefing

The start of another project!!!

However, after the last project I am feeling quite energised and on the ball, ready to work. This project is based of competition work, creating entries for at least two competitions. I am quite excited about this, because it gives us an opportunity to decide on our work focus, and depending on how many entries we want to make the pace to the project. I am also looking forward to having more than one project on the go at once, that ways it's not as boring and you're always making something.

As a group, we all have to complete an entry for the Bradford textiles competition and one other. examples of other competitions we may enter could include... the CAMAC wallpaper competition or the Hand and Lock embroidery competition.

Brief information about Bradford textiles competition (I will complete more in depth information in due course).
there are lots of different categories, each of which do not have any strict subject matter. The judges want to see how experimental an individual can be within the textile market areas.. interiors, fashion etc..
there are categories on knitting, weaving, printing and combined processes.
competitions in which wool is used receive less entries.

MORE INFO ON COMPETITIONS IS ON THE VLE!

In this project we must attend the sessions even after submission, book workshop sessions ASAP and decide what competitions we want to enter!

WE MUST TAKE ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE GIVEN TO US, STUDENTS WHO TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY ARE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL.
COMPETITIONS ARE NOT JUST ABOUT WINNING, LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES CAN ARISE FROM THEM.

I fear that this project is going to be a little choatic, but I must stay on top of everything to ensure I succeed better than the last project. I am looking forward to the opportunities this project can bring, and just having a great deal of fun at the same time.
